Gays should be unhealthy, unhappy, unsafe, poor and dead: GOP

Sen. Sam Brokeback, er, Brownback, spoke eloquently about why the GOP should keep gays from marrying yesterday in the Senate. I could not find his exact quote online, and it is not in a press release on his website, but I did find a National Review article he wrote 2 years ago, the last time the GOP trotted out this amendment because they needed voters, with the same basic argument.

Not least of the reasons heterosexual marriage is a positive social good is the fact that, in a married state, adults of both sexes are vastly healthier, happier, safer, and wealthier, and live longer lives.

And, Sen. Brokeback, er Brownback is right, according to the CDC.

So, he apparently does not want gays to have the same opportunity to live vastly healthier, happier, safer, and wealthier, and live longer lives.

And, why should they? Wouldn't the right be happier, healthier, safer, wealthier and live linger be too....Christian? Or maybe Jesus would want them to die sooner, in misery and poverty.

I have been ambivalent about the gay marriage amendment, until now. Sen. Brokeback, um, Brownback has made the case for me that gays should be allowed to marry. There is no legitimate reason to deny any Americans the right to live vastly healthier, happier, safer, and wealthier, and live longer lives. Certainly, as a Christian, I cannot condemn anyone to the fate the GOP wants to sentance gays to.
